About the Role
The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing and maintaining network infrastructure of our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of network services, WAN services, cloud connect services, data centre LAN, private and public cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, and maintain confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal policies, procedures and processes
- Familiarization, adherence and compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Preventative Maintenance
- Repair faults in accordance with standards and specifications or follow prescribed escalation path for a solution
- Implement the solution in accordance with procedures and monitor the solution for functionality on the site
- Provide feedback to the relevant role players
- Conduct preventative maintenance in accordance with policies, procedures and legal requirements
- Execute QA on network designs and network installations
- Complete High-Level and Low-Level Network Designs as and when requested
- Prepare training and development plans for yourself, bearing in mind your weakness, career and objectives
- Identify compliance issues ensuring written and verbal policies and regulations are kept in check
- Support Management to identify and analyse the risk which could have an impact of loss to the organisation, customers, employees, suppliers and the public
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
- Professional / Tertiary CCNP/ CCIE required
- IT related degree or diploma (or equivalent NQF 5) will be advantageous
- TOGAF & ITIL certification will be advantageous
Qualifications
- Valid and active Cisco CCNP/CCIE Certifications
