Job Description
Our client is a leading technology-driven organisation focused on delivering robust, scalable software solutions in a fast-paced and innovative environment. They are seeking a Software Developer (Level 2) with a strong backend focus to contribute to the development and optimisation of integrated systems. In this role, you’ll work across the full SDLC — from analysing requirements and designing backend components to building, testing, and deploying reliable services.
You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, contribute to code quality, and play a role in strengthening development and deployment practices. This is a strong growth role for a developer who wants to deepen their backend expertise while gaining hands-on exposure to DevOps and modern engineering ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse business requirements and contribute to backend-focused technical design
- Develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using C#/.NET
- Write clean, efficient, and testable code aligned to best practices
- Work with databases, writing and optimising SQL queries
- Participate in code reviews and uphold development standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Maintain technical documentation and improve engineering processes
Job Experience and Skills Required:
Education:
- Relevant 3-year Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Experience:
- 2–4 years’ software development experience with a strong backend focus
- Hands-on experience working within a team-based development environment
- Exposure to building and maintaining APIs and integrated systems
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong backend development experience (primary focus)
- Solid experience with C# / .NET
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
- Exposure to PostgreSQL (highly beneficial)
- Understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and build/release processes
- Familiarity with containerisation tools (e.g. Docker)
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of software design principles and best practices
- Ability to write maintainable, testable, and efficient code
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
