Our client, a leader in the shipping industry is seeking an experienced Operations Clerk to join their team based in Durban. JOB PURPOSE Plans and co-ordinates delivery routes, collections, and deliveries within the required time frame to provide excellent customer service. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Matric. 2 years’ experience in this field. Experience in Navis (Import and Export bookings, preadvise, container checks) Understanding depot and shipping line procedures (last free day for empty returns) Understanding port procedures and have NAVIS experience Understanding DRO container collection process from full storage depots Understanding the process of making a booking to collect cargo from container depots for delivery to customer’s premises. Understanding hazardous requirements for drivers and trucks for hazardous loads Understanding driver procedures Previous NBCRFI experience Experience with long haul (Superlink) and local deliveries (LCL trucks) Must have code 8 driver’s license MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS Managing emails/ telephonic communication and timeous feedback to clients Work according to client’s SOP’s and procedures. Monitor drivers’ activities and routes to prevent route deviations and/or time delays thereby providing excellent customer services Do bulk checks on Navis to ensure all containers are assigned and released for collection. Make sure no holds on containers. Provide expected container lists to ICS and outside customers. Book trucks for IDMs when ICS or other customers require trucks to load. Provide them with truck ETA’s and any delays. Make appointments for collection of LCL cargo. Plan truck and trailer CORs when the Transport Manager advises Monitor vehicles via Bid track Upload all documentation onto TMS (Customer Instructions and driver trip sheets) Ensure all drivers comply with safety regulations Ensure all drivers comply with Company policies, procedures, and SOP’s
