About the Role
The Technical Sales Engineer role combines technical understanding of printing equipment with consultative sales skills, enabling customers to select the most appropriate production technology for their operations. The successful candidate will work closely with print converters, label manufacturers, and packaging producers, providing expert guidance on machinery, process improvements, and production solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the printing, label and packaging industry
- Build relationships with print houses, label converters, packaging manufacturers and production managers
- Grow market share through proactive prospecting, networking and industry engagement
- Develop strategic accounts and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Provide consultative sales support on printing and finishing equipment
- Understand customer production processes and recommend appropriate machinery solutions
- Conduct technical presentations, demonstrations and equipment proposals
- Prepare quotations, proposals and technical specifications
- Liaise with internal technical teams and international OEM partners
- Support customers through the equipment selection, installation and commissioning process
- Assist customers with production optimisation and equipment upgrades
Requirements
- 38 years of experience in technical sales or sales engineering
- Experience selling capital equipment, industrial machinery, or technical production systems
- Exposure to printing, packaging, converting, or manufacturing environments preferred
