About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team in Durbanville, working in a hybrid setup that combines remote and office work. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for supporting multiple companies within a multi-entity group, ensuring seamless financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices, resolve queries, and prepare weekly payment runs
  • Maintain customer and supplier records with accuracy and escalate where needed
  • Perform daily bank postings and assist with bank reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Record financial transactions in the General Ledger
  • Manage accounts payable (invoices, payments, reconciliations, age analysis)
  • Manage accounts receivable (invoices, receipts, reconciliations, age analysis)
  • Prepare and maintain cashflow forecasts and reports
  • Assist with monthly management accounts and audit queries
  • Reconcile petty cash
  • Prepare accounts payable/receivable journals and accruals
  • Handle online payments and SARS administration

Requirements

  • Degree / Diploma in Accounting or equivalent qualification
  • 35 years of experience in a Junior Accountant role
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Proven experience operating within a multi-entity group, supporting companies with different shareholders and stakeholder priorities
  • Own vehicle and driver’s license
