Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare underlying working papers for external audits
- Liaise directly with external auditors during audit processes
- Prepare annual, interim, and monthly financial statements and management accounts
- Manage financial statements audits and agreed audit engagements
- Conduct budget preparation and budget variance analysis
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes
- Organise, prepare, and review bookkeeping transactions
- Analyse and interpret accounting records in line with IFRS standards
- Gather, monitor, and report on financial data, including revenue, expenses, and liabilities
- Identify and report on accounting discrepancies
- Conduct financial risk analysis to support potential investments
- Analyse financial trends and performance indicators
- Support property development finance reporting and multi-entity structures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6–7 years’ experience in a financial accounting role
- Proven experience in property development, real estate, or commercial finance (advantageous)
- IFRS statutory reporting experience (essential)
- Extensive CaseWare experience (essential)
- Tax experience (essential)
- Experience with budget preparation and financial analysis
- Sage ERP experience (advantageous)
- Experience with consolidations (advantageous)
- Additional professional certification (CPA / CA(SA)) (advantageous)
