Job Description

We are looking for a Field Service Technician in Lydenburg:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of Grade 12 Certificate
  • Must have completed an Apprenticeship, and be in possession of a recognized appropriate Trade
  • Test Certificate (Section 13 and or 26)
  • Must have at least 3 years experience as a Diesel/Auto electrician/Millwright in an underground mechanized mining environment
  • Must have at least 3 years experience in the maintenance of TMM LHDs, Dump Trucks, Drill rigs and Roof bolter equipment in an underground mining environment
  • Must be in possession of a valid Certificate of Fitness (Red Ticket)
  • Valid Code 08 Drivers License

OVERVIEW :

  • Responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment on site.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Do Planned & help with Maintenance on machines in a manner that promotes reliability with total cost saving to the Client.
  • This includes all OEM electrical work up to the Junction Box at the Mines Mini-Sub.
  • Ensure proper wiring, connection, and configuration of electrical components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues and implement timely repairs
  • Conduct thorough inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues
  • Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and relevant departments to resolve complex electrical issues
  • Arrange / request all spares required in a pro-active manner.
  • Inspection on the Machines and Sign-off.
  • Follow & adhere to all Mine Rules & Procedures.
  • Help to identify Training needs of people on Site and communicate with Foreman.
