Responsibilities:

Forecourt Operations Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the forecourt and service areas, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Ensure that all forecourt staff are presentable, well-groomed, and adhering to company uniform standards.
  • Ensure proper merchandising of products, especially the lubricant racks, to maximize visibility and sales.
  • Ensure that the Forecourt Customer Attendants (CSA) provide top-tier service to customers at all times.
  • Supervise and assign daily/shift-based duties to CSAs in conjunction with the line manager.

Customer Service & Staff Supervision:

  • Ensure that customers are served efficiently and that all customer requests are handled professionally and politely.
  • Address customer complaints and staff disobedience in the first instance, escalating issues to the manager when necessary.
  • Act as a representative of management when dealing with credit customers and resolving any disputes or concerns.
  • Provide on-the-job training (OTJT) for new employees, ensuring they meet the company`s service standards.
  • Assist in evaluating and appraising staff performance, providing constructive feedback and recommending improvements where necessary.

Operational and Administrative

Duties:

  • Manage daily banking, cash-ups, tank dipping, and wet stock management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
  • Order, receive, and process fuel stock efficiently, ensuring no disruptions in supply.
  • Ensure all forecourt equipment is regularly maintained and operational.
  • Monitor and relay fuel readings to management, ensuring all discrepancies are addressed promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and housekeeping practices to maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Team Leadership & Cost Control:

  • Organize and manage staff shifts, ensuring appropriate coverage for peak times and maintaining discipline among the forecourt team.
  • Supervise the IP Stock Control & Dispensing process on Depot 2.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Maintain a strong focus on cost control and the efficient use of resources.

Training & Development:

  • Continuously improve the service excellence of forecourt staff through coaching and training, ensuring all team members are equipped with the skills necessary to perform their roles.
  • Take responsibility for training staff for specific forecourt duties and ensuring that all employees are knowledgeable and competent.

Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Valid Driver’s License

Experience:

  • 3 to 4 years of experience in a fuel station environment
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a similar setting (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of fuel operations and best practices.
  • Computer literate with experience using BB Soft and MS Dynamics (advantageous).
  • Strong knowledge of operational processes, safety standards, and customer service excellence.
