About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Inbound Consultant to join our team in Durban as part of our hybrid working model. As a key member of our sales and operations team, you will be responsible for handling inbound travel requests from quotation through to booking confirmation, ensuring exceptional levels of accuracy, creativity, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound travel enquiries from international wholesale agents and operators
- Prepare accurate and creative tailor-made quotations and itineraries using Tourplan
- Negotiate rates and secure services with suppliers to achieve competitive margins
- Convert quotes into confirmed bookings, ensuring seamless reservations and documentation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers
- Ensure all itineraries are costed correctly, with accurate and profitable profit margins
- Monitor and manage booking files to ensure services are delivered as promised
- Provide pre-departure support, including travel documentation and concierge-style assistance
- Resolve operational issues swiftly and professionally
- Mentor and guide junior consultants where necessary
Requirements
- Grade 12
- A formal travel & tourism qualification
- At least 3–5 years’ experience in inbound consulting within a DMC or tour operating environment
- Strong working knowledge of Tourplan (a plus)
- Comprehensive understanding of Southern African destinations, products, and logistics
- Proven track record in handling FIT and Group bookings
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English essential; additional languages advantageous)
- High attention to detail and accuracy in costing and documentation
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong client service orientation with problem-solving skills
- Team player with a proactive, positive attitude
