Job Description

Fine-dining Restaurant at a Wine Estate close to Franschhoek is seeking a talented and highly organised Breakfast Sous Chef to lead morning kitchen operations. This Restaurant is known for its commitment to exceptional ingredients, refined, relaxed hospitality and world-class culinary offering, celebrates seasonal produce, farm-driven cooking and thoughtful, beautifully executed dishes. We are looking for a chef who takes pride in precision, consistency and creating memorable morning dining experiences. Duties: Lead and manage the breakfast service kitchen operations Prepare and execute high-quality breakfast dishes Ensure consistency, presentation, and quality across all dishes Manage breakfast prep and mise en place Supervise and train junior kitchen staff during morning service Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards Assist the Executive Chef with menu development Ensure efficient stock control and ordering for breakfast operations Maintain a calm, organised kitchen during busy services Assist with kitchen operations as needed Requirements: Culinary Diploma Preferably /- 4 years previous in a senior chef role at a 5* hotel / restaurant Leadership and management skills Previous experience as a Sous Chef Passion for seasonal, farm-driven ingredients Excellent organisational and leadership skills Strong attention to detail and plating standards Positive attitude and ability to work within a professional kitchen team Able to work in a team Basic computer skills (word, excel, outlook) Exceptional customer-service skills Excellent written & oral communication skills Strong organizational skills Attention to detail Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, public holidays, weekends)
