About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality web applications using Python and Django. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance system functionality and performance, while ensuring code quality through testing and best practice development standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment and ongoing optimisation

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field (or proven experience)
  • Strong experience developing within a web framework
  • Solid understanding of relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Beneficial Experience:
  • Python and Django
  • Front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
  • Version control (Git)
  • Numerical libraries (NumPy and Pandas)
  • Exposure to cybersecurity practices
  • Experience within financial or data-driven environments
