To support their growth and their people-first culture, an experienced Head of Human Resources is sought to join the leadership team.</span></p><p style="text-align:start"><strong><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">The Role</span></strong></p><p style="text-align:start"><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">The Head of Human Resources will lead all HR functions across their vineyard, winery, and hospitality departments. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in labour relations, workforce planning, payroll, policies, Health & Safety and employee engagement. You will play a pivotal role in shaping their culture, ensuring compliance with South African labour legislation, and driving initiatives that support both seasonal and permanent staff. This role will report to the board quarterly.</span></p><p style="text-align:start"><strong><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Key Responsibilities</span></strong></p><ul><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Develop and implement HR strategy aligned with business objectives.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Lead workforce planning, recruitment, succession planning and retention for both permanent and seasonal teams.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Ensure compliance with South African labour laws (BCEA, LRA, OHSA, EE, POPIA).</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Oversee performance management, training, and career development programs.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Promote a positive organizational culture through employee engagement initiatives.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Manage employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary procedures fairly and effectively.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Partner with leadership to support change management and organizational growth.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Overseeing annual tax reporting and payroll; managing communication and grievances.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Oversee Health & Safety reporting across the estate, reporting to the Managing Director ensuring WEITA compliance.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Develop, implement and maintain HR policies in line with legislation</span></p></li></ul><p style="text-align:start"><strong><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Requirements</span></strong></p><ul><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">SA Citizen</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, or related field.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Minimum of 710 years HR leadership experience, preferably within hospitality, wine, tourism, or agriculture.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Strong Knowledge of Health & Safety reporting, WEITA and payroll systems.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Proven experience managing both large hospitality teams and seasonal workforce needs.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.9);">Excellent understanding, navigation and usage of all Microsoft word applications, Adobe, Sage payroll software, BVPD compliance software, ERS Biometrics, e-filing.</span></p></li><li><p>Preferably reside in the Cape Winelands and surrounds</p></li><li><p>Own transport essential</p></li></ul>
