About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Waiter to join our 5* Wine Estate in Franschhoek, providing exceptional dining experiences that meet brand standards. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering warm, professional, discreet yet efficient service while maintaining high standards of food and beverage presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet all guests warmly and professionally
- Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times
- Understand the sequence of service and anticipate guest needs
- Be fully aware of table allocations, dietary requirements, allergies, and special requests during service
- Inform the kitchen of any guest food requirements or allergies in accordance with standards
- Have a complete knowledge of the menu and wine list to confidently assist guests
- Assist guests with non-menu requests, responding positively and accommodating where possible
- Handle guest complaints and comments professionally, escalating them to the Restaurant Manager / MOD when necessary
- Familiarise yourself on each shift with the day sheet and any events (function sheets) applicable to your shift
- Ensure all tables are cleared, cleaned, and reset in accordance with Leeu Collection standards
- Perform cleaning tasks as required, including polishing cutlery and glassware, cleaning floors, fridges, windows & service areas i.e. buffet stations
- Assist with monthly stock take as and when requested by the Restaurant Manager
- Assist with restocking of fridges and bar areas
- Have a full understanding and be able to do set-up’s special events
- Accurately enter all transactions into the Easipos system
Requirements
- Matric
- Wine certificate course would be beneficial (optional)
- At least 2-years waitering experience in a high-end Fine Dining Restaurant / Hotel Restaurant
- Proficiency in POS systems: Easipos preferred
- Knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and beverages
- Time Management skills
