Job Description

Farmer & Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with poultry farmers, integrators, and agri-business stakeholders. Conduct regular on-farm visits to understand production systems, operational challenges, and farm economics. Act as the primary local representative and trusted point of contact for the AgriTech solutions in South Africa. Establish credibility with farmers by translating technology into practical, farm-level value. Business Development & Sales Identify, engage, and convert early-adopter poultry farmers and agri-business customers. Drive consultative sales conversations focused on return on investment (ROI), productivity improvements, and operational efficiency. Manage the full sales cycle end-to-end, including prospecting, demonstrations, proposals, negotiations, and deal closure. Develop reference customers and case studies to support wider market adoption. Achieve agreed revenue, pipeline, and customer adoption targets. Solution Enablement & Deployment Support Explain AI camera and precision farming solutions in clear, practical terms suited to on-farm decision-makers. Support pilots, trials, and early deployments in collaboration with technical partners and international teams. Assist customers during onboarding to ensure successful early adoption and satisfaction. Gather structured feedback from farms to support localisation, product improvement, and refinement of use cases. Market Intelligence & Growth Strategy Provide ongoing market insights on customer needs, pricing sensitivity, competitor activity, and adoption barriers. Contribute to local go-to-market strategy, pricing models, and sales messaging. Identify opportunities to expand into adjacent precision agriculture solutions (e.g. sensors, drones, analytics platforms) as the business scales. Represent the company at relevant agricultural events, field days, and industry forums. Reporting & Internal Collaboration Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer engagements, and pipeline progress. Provide regular updates to management on market traction, opportunities, and risks. Collaborate with international partners, distributors, and technical teams to ensure alignment and execution. Role Scope & Accountability Operate with a high degree of autonomy as the first hire in South Africa. Take ownership of market entry, early traction, and customer success in the local market. Uphold high standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical engagement with farmers and partners. Essential Proven experience in agriculture (poultry, livestock, agri-services, agri-inputs, agri-equipment or AgriTech). Strong credibility engaging farmers and farm managers in on-farm environments. Experience in business development, sales, or account management. Ability to manage the full sales cycle and sell through consultative, relationship-led approaches. Comfortable working independently and owning results as a first hire. Willing and able to travel regularly; valid drivers licence and own vehicle. Advantageous Exposure to AgriTech, precision farming, AI, IoT, sensors, cameras, or data-driven solutions. Experience supporting pilots, trials, or early-stage deployments. Start-up, scale-up, or new market-entry experience. Personal Attributes Practical, self-driven, and commercially minded. Strong communicator with high integrity and trustworthiness. Comfortable in field-based, farmer-facing roles.
