About the Role
The Commissioning Specialist role at Manpower Group involves collaborating with data centre design teams, reviewing and approving commissioning strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry best practices. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, multi-disciplinary knowledge of electrical, mechanical, control, fire, and BMS systems, and effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the data centre design team to understand the data centre designs for new fit out projects as well as system upgrade projects.
- Review and approve all commissioning and system testing strategies for each project.
- Create a commissioning plan for each project to track commissioning targets.
- Commissioning of all systems during project fit out with design consultants.

- Commission all systems as per design requirements for all levels (L1 to L5).
- Sign off on all quality and installation requirements.
- Review method statements for switching critical installations.
- Ensure all systems are reporting correctly on BMS platforms.
- Provide weekly report on commissioning progress.
- Create and manage L4 and L5 test scripts in combination with the design team and commissioning agents.
- Verify operational system efficiencies comply to original designs.
- Manage all documentation on BIM360 or similar platform during the project phase (administration assistance will be provided).
- Provide Level 4 and Level 5 (IST) commissioning report for each project.
- Provide feedback to design team on challenges and ideas on designs.
- Create safe work procedures for all maintenance to be done on all systems.
- Review, approve and provide all hand over documentation to the Data Center operations team.
- Work with and maintain oversight over commissioning agents and commissioning activities thereof.
Requirements
- Excellent technical commissioning, design and calculation abilities.
- Ability to analyse data centre systems.
- Multi-disciplinary knowledge of electrical, mechanical, control, fire and BMS systems will be an advantage.
- Effective communication skills, active listener – ability to understand requirements.
- Proactive problem solver, perform rapid and accurate assessments.
- Ability to work independently, as well as being a positive team player.
- Self-motivated.
- Conducts self professionally, exhibits elevated levels of tolerance and patience.
- Responsible for continued learning and self-development.
- Quick response to potentially critical situations.
- Trouble shoot systems and components to identify root causes of failures.
- Implement corrective actions promptly to mitigate the negative effects of system changes.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or 7+ Year critical system commissioning experience.
- Data Centre commissioning experience 3+ years.
- Minimum 5 years relevant design experience.
- Experience with BMS networks and communication protocols will be an advantage.
- Extensive knowledge on Data Centre environments and critical infrastructure systems.
- 5 years relevant plant operation experience will be an advantage.
