Key Responsibilities
Debtors & Credit Control Management
– Oversee the full debtors book and ensure effective credit control processes
– Monitor debtor ageing and implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances
– Drive collections and ensure targets are consistently achieved
– Investigate and resolve account queries efficiently
Team Leadership
– Lead and manage the debtors team
– Allocate workloads and monitor performance
– Provide guidance and support to ensure effective collections and client engagement
Financial Administration & Reporting
– Ensure accurate reconciliations of debtor accounts
– Prepare regular reports on debtor status, ageing, and risk exposure
– Monitor credit limits and review customer accounts where necessary
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
– Maintain professional relationships with key clients to resolve payment matters
– Work closely with internal departments including sales, operations, and finance
– Manage escalations and negotiate payment arrangements where required
Process Improvement & Compliance
– Ensure adherence to company policies and financial procedures
– Identify opportunities to improve credit control processes
– Maintain accurate records and reporting standards
Minimum Requirements
– Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Credit Management advantageous
– Minimum 5 years’ experience in a debtors or credit control environment
– Previous team management experience essential
– Strong reconciliation and financial administration skills
– Experience within logistics, courier, distribution, or service-based industries advantageous
