About the Role

The client, a giant in the Manufacturing industry and part of a JSE-listed group, is seeking a Junior Factory Manager. This is a great opportunity for a young, vibrant individual who has experience in the manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be required to work hard, roll up their sleeves, and be career-oriented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Factory Manager in operational management and team development of the factory.
  • Excellent Maintenance skills are required.
  • Recruitment, training, and development of personnel.
  • Asset preservation through the development, implementation, and management of effective systems.
  • Develop and implement best practices in all areas of the factory.
  • Being a credible leader who develops and guides operational teams and individuals in achieving targets.
  • Driving continuous improvements and waste elimination to reduce costs and improve quality.
  • Product development to ensure a sustained fashionable and value-for-money product range.
  • Project management of capital projects.
  • Development of new products and technology.
  • Financial control of factory costs.
  • Safety and risk management in terms of legislation.
  • Sourcing of new local and international suppliers.
  • Identification and development of future leaders in the business.
  • Ensure the factory is focused on the agreed key performance indicators.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification: BSc Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Engineering/Chemical/Metallurgical
  • Advantageous: Previous Millwright Qualification / Electrical Qualification or similar

Salary & Benefits

Salary range is highly negotiable, depending on knowledge, skill set, experience, and expertise. Exceptional benefits include medical aid contribution (Discovery); Pension/Provident; 13th cheque and profit sharing (2 x annual).

Working Hours

Must be prepared to work every alternative Saturday and additional hours as and when required.
