Job Description
What You’ll Do
- Lead the full payroll function for a large and diverse workforce.
- Ensure accurate, compliant, and on-time payroll processing each month.
- Provide payroll and tax expertise, guiding management on remuneration and benefits.
- Drive process improvements, system efficiencies, and governance initiatives.
- Partner with HR and Finance to deliver analytics, reports, and payroll insights.
- Oversee statutory compliance (PAYE, UIF, EMP201, EMP501, Workman’s Comp).
- Manage relationships with key external partners (Sage, Standard Bank, SARS, benefit providers).
- Mentor and develop the Payroll Administrator, ensuring a culture of precision and accountability.
What You Bring
- A BCom in HR / Accounting or similar qualification.
- 5–7 years’ payroll experience, with strong Sage 300 People / VIP Premier skills.
- Proven experience managing payroll for complex environments.
- A keen eye for detail, data integrity, and compliance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A proactive approach — you see payroll as both a service and a strategic business tool.
