Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend architectures.
- Build and optimise APIs (REST, GraphQL) for seamless frontend and third-party integration.
- Enhance database performance, data storage, and retrieval processes.
- Implement security best practices to protect applications from vulnerabilities.
- Work with DevOps teams to automate deployments and manage cloud infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues, and production bottlenecks.
- Lead and mentor junior developers, ensuring code quality through reviews and best practices.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to backend systems.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Honour’s degree in related field will be advantageous.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
Experience:
- 8 – 10 years of experience as a Backend Developer.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable backend systems.
- Hands-on experience with system architecture and cloud computing.
- Experience working with large-scale databases and performance tuning.
- Experience with C#.
- Experience with NET, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Expertise in database management (SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Experience of Azure cloud
- Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Cloud Platforms and DevOps practices.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead backend development projects and mentor junior developers.
- Passion for learning new technologies and staying up to date with industry trends.
