Job Description
- Completes production by sufficient planning; scheduling and assigning staff to accomplish work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; forecasting problems, resolving problems; ensuring productions targets are met and reporting results to the Machine Shop Manager.
- Liaise and communicate production with other production and project managers.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintain quality by monitoring production; reducing scrap and re-work and enforcing organization quality standards.
- Uphold company values, vision, policies, processes, procedures and systems; discipline, coach and counsel employees appropriately.
- Developing personal growth opportunities and improving skills within the department
- Accepts and embraces change, innovative and receptive to new ideas; encourages others to accept, be receptive and deal with change; initiates change when necessary; solves problems and provides solutions.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and coaching personnel on the use of all equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established health and safety legislation policies and procedures and emphasising good housekeeping practices within the department.

- Maintains positive relations with staff by building high morale within the department; supporting and motivating staff; providing expectations and feedback to staff; teaching staff in order to prevent repetition of errors and mistakes; having a positive attitude and inspiring staff to grow and do their jobs well; actively listening and communicating company, department, managerial and employee needs and desires to one another.
- Maintain working relationships with respective majority unions by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement

Key Responsibility and Authority
- Manage and Co-ordinate team with Supervisor
- Assist with planning, managing and co-ordination of production and progress improvement
- Ensure production targets are met
- Stop production when found out of control or specification
- Maintain quality – monitor, record and reduce scrap and re-work
- Signing off of 1st off samples on setup and inspection reports
- Ensure sufficient resources and all equipment is ready and in good working order
- Uphold company values, vision, policies, processes, procedures and systems
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
