About the Role
The Senior Factory Manager is a critical role that requires exceptional leadership and technical expertise to deliver high-quality products while maintaining a safe and reliable production process. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, profit, and strategic objectives, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement asset preservation strategies to optimize maintenance execution.
- Ensure the effective execution of preventive and reactive maintenance work on factory assets.
- Drive quality and eliminate defects through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Recruit, train, and develop team members to achieve business objectives.
- Source and manage relationships with external and internal suppliers, OEMs, and shared resources.
- Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
- Develop people pipelines for business continuity and ensure employee accountability for KPIs.
- Lead change management initiatives and promote competency and capability development.
- Ensure compliance with SHERQ regulations and system, as well as safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- NQF Level 6/7 Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Metallurgy).
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification engineering or process experience in FMCG, Chemical and Processing, or Mining industry.
- Qualification in financial management is advantageous.
