Key Responsibilities
- Manage kitchen operations during service, ensuring high-quality food presentation and efficient service delivery
- Lead and train kitchen staff to achieve optimal team performance and productivity
- Develop and implement menu planning and inventory management strategies to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create menus that showcase creativity and technical ability
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen environment
Requirements
- Matric qualification
- 3–5 years’ experience in a busy, professional kitchen
- Previous experience as Senior Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef preferred
- Strong cooking skills and knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
- Ability to lead and train kitchen staff
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
Salary & Benefits
R15,000 – R23,000 per month DOE
