About the Role
The Stock Controller plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of daily lodge operations by managing all inventory efficiently. This position involves maintaining accurate records, preventing shortages, and supporting key departments such as housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance, and guest services.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain all inventory and stock management systems accurately
- Complete and run full stock takes and compile relevant reports
- Order and purchase supplies and equipment within budget
- Compare suppliers to secure best value pricing
- Allocate stock items to correct inventory accounts
- Perform rotational checks on high-value stock items
- Report discrepancies or anomalies in stock levels to Management
- Work as part of a team with strong focus on efficiency and service
- Prioritize and manage tasks independently
- Oversee effective stock control for beverages
- Assist with lodge functions and weddings when required
- Conduct spot checks on all outlets during the month
- Compile variance reports on overspending
- Prepare mid-month and month-end financial reports, highlighting variances or discrepancies
Requirements
- Financial / Bookkeeping experience is a strong advantage (not essential)
- Excellent computer and administration skills (strong Excel required)
- 2–3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Good command of English
- Extremely accurate and precise
- Fully computer literate
Salary & Benefits
R8 500 p.m DOE – Including Accommodation
