About the Role
iStaff (Pty) Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Test Analyst to join their team in Gauteng. As a key member of the quality assurance team, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and maintaining tests to ensure the highest standards of software quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements and objectives.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scripts.
- Establish testing scope, goals, and acceptance criteria.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing where required.
- Execute test cases and accurately capture results to ensure thorough coverage.
- Identify, log, and prioritise defects, discrepancies, or irregularities.
- Validate fixes and conduct retesting as needed.
- Prepare and configure test environments that closely replicate production settings.
- Ensure availability and accuracy of test data.
- Work with system administrators and infrastructure teams to support testing needs.
- Partner with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders throughout the process.
- Contribute to design discussions to proactively identify potential issues.
- Provide input on system design and architecture to improve testability.
- Develop and maintain detailed testing documentation, including plans, cases, and reports.
- Compile test summaries and communicate outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
- Keep up to date with industry best practices and emerging testing tools and technologies.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to improve testing processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in system testing, validation, or QA
- Strong grasp of software testing principles and methodologies
- Skilled in test case design, execution, and defect tracking
- Familiar with Agile/DevOps practices
- Knowledge of Git, JIRA, or similar tools
