Job Description
Salary: R20,000 per month (CTC – negotiable based on experience)
Job Purpose
The school is seeking a dedicated, qualified, and experienced Afrikaans First Language Teacher to teach Grades 10, 11, and 12. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in line with the CAPS curriculum, preparing learners for internal assessments and the NSC examinations, and contributing to academic excellence within the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Afrikaans First Language to Grades 10, 11, and 12
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with CAPS requirements
- Set, mark, and moderate tests, assignments, and examinations
- Accurately and timeously mark internal assessments and exam scripts
- Prepare learners for NSC examinations and monitor academic progress
- Maintain accurate learner records, assessment schedules, and reports
- Attend staff meetings, subject meetings, and parent-teacher engagements
- Contribute positively to the academic culture, values, and ethos of the school
Minimum Requirements
- Recognised teaching qualification (BEd or PGCE)
- Afrikaans First Language proficiency (spoken and written)
- Minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience at high school level
- Proven experience teaching Grades 10–12
- Sound knowledge of the CAPS curriculum and assessment requirements
- Experience with marking formal assessments and examinations
