About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Maintenance “Handyman” to join our team at The Caretakers in Germiston, Gauteng. As a permanent member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for site visits, completing small projects within budget, drafting reports on findings, and executing hands-on project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Site visits and completion of small projects within budget
- Drafting of detailed reports on findings on site using Microsoft
- Execution of hands-on project deliverables on every aspect of the project scope
- Purchasing of materials, small parts, and consumables (financially responsible)
- Minor Plumbing:
- Bracing
- Welding
- PVC
- Drain laying
- Drain unblocking
- Minor Electrical:
- Light fittings
- Plug fitment
- Fault finding
- Small installations & wiring
- Carpentry:
- Ceiling fitment
- Door hanging
- Skirtings
- Cornice
- BIC & Kitchens
- Pool service:
- Remove and fit pumps
- Placing of chemicals
- Water testing
- Leak repair
- Roofing:
- Waterproofing roofs
- Tile work
- Torch-on
- Slurry
- IBR
- Flashings & timber work
- General Maintenance:
- Building
- Painting
- Plastering
- Paving
- Light concrete works
- Walling & general building work
Requirements
- Previous maintenance experience with a proven hands-on track record
- At least 2-3 years of experience in property maintenance in a similar position
- Must always be professional and well presented
