Payroll & HR Administrator Germiston, Gauteng Salary: R20000 to R25000 p/m Role Purpose The Payroll & HR Administrator will be responsible for the full payroll function and provide comprehensive HR administrative support within a fast-paced commercial engineering environment. The role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and strong organisational skills to ensure smooth payroll processing and HR operations. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration Manage and process the full payroll function (weekly and/or monthly) Capture, verify and maintain payroll data including new engagements, terminations, leave, overtime and deductions Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (PAYE, UIF, SDL) Prepare and submit EMP201, EMP501 and other SARS submissions Reconcile payroll reports and General Ledger accounts Generate payslips and payroll reports Maintain accurate payroll records and audit trails Experience with PaySpace highly advantageous HR Administration Maintain employee records and HR databases Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes Draft employment contracts and HR-related documentation Administer leave records and attendance registers Support disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes Assist with recruitment administration (advertising, screening, scheduling interviews) Ensure compliance with labour legislation and company policies Minimum Requirements Matric (Grade 12) Relevant qualification in Payroll / HR / Finance (advantageous) Minimum 35 years experience in payroll administration Proven experience managing full payroll function Experience in HR administration Working knowledge of South African labour legislation and payroll compliance Technical Skills Experience with PaySpace (preferred) or similar payroll systems Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel Knowledge of SARS eFiling and statutory submissions HR systems experience advantageous Key Competencies High attention to detail and accuracy Strong numerical and analytical skills Ability to handle confidential information with integrity Good communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational and time management abilities Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
