About the Role
As a Senior Process Engineer at our client in Germiston, you will play a pivotal role in leading the engineering, design, development, and optimisation of process plants. With a strong focus on innovation, quality, and customer service, they support diverse industries with engineered solutions and ongoing technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to ensure your team is aligned with the company’s Vision, Mission, and Values
- Arrange and manage engineering consultants for specialised project needs
- Lead the process engineering, design, and development of new process plants or improvements to existing plants
- Apply process engineering principles, including mass and energy balances and P&ID design, to optimise and troubleshoot processes
- Identify opportunities for process and design optimisation to improve efficiency, reduce costs, increase throughput, and enhance product quality
- Select appropriate equipment and machinery; specify requirements and collaborate with vendors and discipline engineers to ensure compliance with project specifications
- Ensure all designed manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations and industry standards
- Identify potential hazards and implement safety protocols to mitigate risks
- Manage work allocation and daily operations of the process engineering team
- Mentor and develop process engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative environment
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, quality, and reliability
Requirements
- BSc Chemical Engineering or BTech Chemical Engineering
- 10 years experience in process plant design and commissioning
- ECSA registration (Essential)
- Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (Desirable)
