About the Role
The Draftsman role at Fouche & Co Recruitment involves creating accurate technical drawings and designs for sheet metal components and assemblies, while collaborating with engineers and designers to support production and ensure high-quality industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies.
- Collaborate with engineers and product designers to realise project concepts.
- Review, revise, and optimise designs based on project requirements.
- Maintain drawing files and associated documentation.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards.
- Support prototype development and production handover.
- Provide technical drawings and guidance to the manufacturing team.
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Interpret technical specifications and incorporate feedback effectively.
Requirements
- Relevant drafting or mechanical design qualification.
- Experience from 1 – 7+ years depending on level (Junior to Senior).
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD preferred.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes an advantage.
- Familiarity with manufacturing industry standards and drafting practices.
Salary & Benefits
Market-related salary based on experience (R10,000 – R30,000 per month)
