Job Summary
Hire Resolve’s Client is currently looking for a Mine Planning Manager (Opencast) to join their mining company based in the Northern Cape.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage short, medium, and long-term mine plans to ensure optimal resource extraction.
- Coordinate geological, geotechnical, and survey data to support accurate mine planning.
- Optimize pit designs, haul roads, and dump layouts to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee drill and blast planning to ensure safe and effective fragmentation.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and environmental teams to align mine plans with operational goals.
- Monitor compliance with mine plans and adjust schedules based on actual performance and changing conditions.
- Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations in all planning activities.
- Lead and mentor a team of mining engineers and planners to develop their technical skills.
- Evaluate new technologies and methods to improve mine planning processes.
- Report on planning performance and contribute to strategic decision-making for the mine.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- National Diploma/Degree in Mining Engineering
- Opencast Blasting Certificate
- Mine Manager’s Certificate (Advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the mining industry in an opencast/surface environment
- Experience in developing and implementing successful mine plans.
- Valid Driver’s License
