About the Role
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the Finance agenda within the company in support of the business strategy, providing fiscal leadership to the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving financial management methodologies and achieving functional integration, ensuring robust financial management is anchored in the DNA of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a business partnering model, supporting business priorities through the embedding of world-class financial management methodologies.
- Participate as a member of the Executive Management Committee with a focus on financial management, governance, and leveraging financial resources to deliver overall business objectives.
- Provide strategic support to the Accounting Officer, Executive Management, and the Accounting Authority (Board) in implementing processes and developing company strategic plans, MTEF, ENE, and annual budgets.
- Develop, reinforce, and implement strategies, programmes, and systems to achieve sound financial performance.
- Lead the embedding and successful execution of common company Financial Management policies, processes, and practices.
- Influence the application of organisation-wide standards of excellence in compliance with SA Standards of GRAP, PFMA, and other financial reporting standards and best practices.
- Provide recommendations to strategically enhance current and future financial performance.
- Advise and support the Accounting Officer and Executive Management on financial implications of business activities.
- Build and execute a road map for improving the Finance Department’s value to the organisation.
- Develop a meaningful Financial Management strategy supporting long-term objectives and manage strategic financial risks.
Requirements
- Relevant experience as a CFO or in a senior finance role, preferably in a similar industry.
- Strong understanding of financial management methodologies and best practices.
- Proven ability to lead and embed world-class financial management systems within an organisation.
- Excellent governance and risk management skills.
- Strong business partnering and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field (or equivalent).
- Relevant professional certifications, such as CFA or CA (SA).
