Were recruiting on behalf of a leading food manufacturer based in North Riding, Johannesburg, who are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager / CFO to take ownership of their financial leadership and operational management.

Please note: To be considered, you MUST meet the following requirements:

• Chartered Accountant CA(SA)

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Finance Manager / Financial Director / CFO, specifically in FMCG or Food Manufacturing
  (Candidates without BOTH these requirements will not be considered.)

The Role

This is a strategic yet very hands-on finance leadership position. Youll oversee the full finance and audit function, ensure compliance and profitability, and work closely with the COO and CEO to drive efficiencies, expand into new markets, and build a high-performing, independent finance team.

Youll manage finance, HR, BBBEE, ESG, budgeting, supplier negotiations, imports/forex, governance, compliance, and administration with the aim of maximising profitability and long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial & Audit Leadership: Full finance function management, audit readiness, monthly management accounts, board reporting, and AFS sign-off.

• Team Management: Lead and mentor a finance team of 5, building independence and strong performance.

• Collaboration: Partner with all departments to improve efficiencies and processes.

• Cost Control: Oversee BOMs, product margins, and supplier negotiations for better terms.

• Imports & Forex: Manage all raw material import processes and forex transactions.

• Strategic Growth: Identify new markets, support exports, and work on price negotiations with key customers.

• HR & Compliance: Oversee BBBEE, ESG, and related governance.

Requirements

• CA(SA) essential

• 1015 years senior finance / executive leadership experience with minimum 5 years in FMCG / Food Manufacturing as FM/FD/CFO

• Strong track record in governance, policy, supplier negotiations, audit, cross-department collaboration, and process improvement

• Advanced proficiency in Pastel Evolution (including Stock Module)
