Job Description

Role Summary:
Hire Resolve is seeking an individual with a key sense of focus and high attention to detail to fill the position of Underwriter in our client’s Commercial Insurance division. This individual will assist with all underwriting and claims responsibilities as listed but not limited to the below.

Responsibilities:

Underwriting
Commercial /Personal Underwriting
Marine Will be to your advantage
Quotations on new business
Amendments/Endorsements on existing policies.
Assist with renewals
Pre-renewal discussions and negotiations.
Instruct insurers to renew policies
Preparing and binding of presentations (Power Point)
Review loss ratios
Reviewing and amending the motor values to the current values.
Preparing pre-renewal and renewal comparisons for client presentations. -Excel
Capturing amendments and renewals on the Ski Host System.
Compiling of relevant correspondence to clients and forwarding the correspondence, together
with the relevant documentation and supporting documentation to clients.

Claims
Assist on insurance claims on all classes.
Ensure that all required documentation received.
Capture of claims on Ski Host and Shared file
Processing of claims to finalization
Follow up with insurers on appointment of service providers

Technical requirements:
Matric
Minimum 5 years relevant broker industry experience
Experience must have been obtained within an insurance brokerage
Exchange control knowledge will be advantageous
Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and Power Point
Must have sound product knowledge, Marine knowledge will to your advantage
