About the Role
Liham Consulting Pty (Ltd) is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling financials, budgets, and bills of materials for automotive products, as well as preparing monthly management reports and presenting financial information to executives and directors.
Key Responsibilities
- Compiling financials, budgets, and bills of materials (BOM) for automotive products in conjunction with production and stores.
- Preparing monthly management reports.
- Presenting budgets and financial reports to executives and directors.
- Preparing financial statements.
- Reconciling accounts, records, and reports and performing journal entries.
- Reviewing and verifying accuracy of data with accurate variance analysis reporting.
- Participating, preparing, and making inputs for companies forecast & budget preparations.
- Costing in a manufacturing environment to the extent of preparing costing models.
- Maintaining asset register.
- Interpreting and applying acts, codes, and regulations (e.g. COID, Tax, and Vat & MIBCO).
- Preparing and reconciling cashbook and petty cash monthly.
- Attending to audit queries and reports.
- Preparing financial and/or auditor statements, schedules, and reports.
- Assisting the senior management in developing and improving profitability at factory level.
Requirements
- Diploma, B. Com Degree, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience.
- Must have good understanding of finance, costing, production, and project management.
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in the re-manufacturing of automotive components.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry and automotive engineering.
- Must have solid presentation skills.
- Knowledge of IFRS.
