About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Remedial Teacher to join our founding team at GiftOvLife’s new neurodiverse-focused remedial school in Johannesburg, opening in January 2026. As a teacher at our school, you will play a crucial role in creating meaningful learning opportunities for neurodiverse children in a small class setting, individualised learning programme, and an emphasis on emotional regulation, sensory support, and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualised learning programmes tailored to the unique needs of each student
- Foster a learner-centred, flexible, and creative teaching style that promotes emotional regulation and sensory awareness
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support for students’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Implement autism-affirming and neurodiversity-informed approaches in the classroom
Requirements
- Recognised Teaching Degree or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
- SACE registration (essential)
- Experience working in special needs and/or remedial education
- Knowledge of autism-affirming and neurodiversity-informed approaches
