As the Functional Buyer , youll play a key role in managing the strategic procurement of technical components and materials working hand-in-hand with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure optimal cost, performance, and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Manage the end-to-end procurement process for technical, mechanical, and electrical components. Partner with engineering and production teams to understand product specifications and ensure accurate sourcing. Evaluate, source, and negotiate with both local and international suppliers to achieve best value and quality. Develop and maintain long-term supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with company policies and standards. Drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to enhance supply efficiency. Conduct supplier audits, evaluate technical capability, and ensure adherence to quality standards. Support forecasting, inventory control, and ERP data accuracy for smooth procurement planning. Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing technologies to support innovation. Qualifications & Experience: 🎓 Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical) or a related technical field (essential). Additional qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Business Management (advantageous). 💼 Experience: Minimum 58 years experience as a Buyer in a technical, manufacturing, or engineering environment. Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical components, industrial machinery, or vacuum systems . Proven experience in supplier negotiations , cost analysis, and contract management. Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Syspro, or SAGE. Experience with import/export procurement and logistics is highly advantageous.
