About the Role

As a Human Resources Business Partner in Johannesburg, you will partner with business leaders to align people strategies with organisational objectives, providing trusted advice on employee relations, performance management, talent development, and workforce planning. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation, while also supporting managers with employee performance, coaching, disciplinary processes, and career development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to align people strategies with organisational objectives
  • Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance management, talent development, and workforce planning
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation to ensure compliance and best practice
  • Support managers with employee performance, coaching, disciplinary processes, and career development initiatives
  • Investigate and resolve complex employee relations matters in a fair and professional manner
  • Monitor HR trends, analyse workforce data, and recommend solutions to improve employee engagement and organisational effectiveness
  • Facilitate succession planning, organisational design, and restructuring initiatives where required
  • Identify training and development needs through skills assessments and collaborate with management to implement appropriate learning interventions
  • Evaluate training outcomes and ensure development objectives are achieved
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including drafting job profiles, sourcing talent, interviewing, and onboarding
  • Prepare and submit the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) to the relevant SETA
  • Coordinate documentation and reporting requirements for BBBEE verification processes
  • Support expatriate and international employee assignments when required
  • Draft and review employment contracts, promotions, transfers, and related employment documentation
  • Represent the organisation in labour-related matters, including CCMA and bargaining council proceedings when necessary

Requirements

Degree in Human Resources

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources Business Partner or similar strategic HR role

Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices

Experience in employee relations, performance management, training and development, and recruitment

Exposure to BBBEE reporting, SETA submissions, and skills development initiatives

Qualifications

Formal education/certifications (e.g. Bachelor’s degree)
