About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Johannesburg, where you will support the design and development of mechanical systems and products. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality technical documentation, analyzing designs, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the engineering team with mechanical design, analysis, and technical documentation
- Assist with the preparation and review of engineering drawings and specifications
- Participate in project activities across various stages of the engineering lifecycle
- Compile basic calculations, reports, and engineering documentation
- Liaise with internal teams to support project delivery and technical requirements
Requirements
- 0 – 2 years experience in a mechanical engineering role or internship
- Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical engineering principles
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical drawings
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to CAD software will be advantageous
