Job Description

Responsibilities:

Network Uptime and Availability:

  • Maintain stable and resilient video and data infrastructure
  • Implement and monitor IP, satellite, and CDN delivery networks
  • Configure and optimize distribution workflows for live and VOD
  • Assist in architecture design, execute builds and test new solutions
  • Manage observability tools, alerts and escalation procedures
  • Support contract SLAs, troubleshoot links and track uptime metrics
  • Maintain redundancy, encryption and operational documentation
  • Drive creation and adoption of operational processes and SOPs
  • Lead by example in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint planning)
  • Foster continuous process improvement within the team
  • Ensure subordinates and contractors actively participate in Agile workflows

Distribution Performance:

  • Consistent broadcast-standard delivery and QoS compliance

Implementation and Optimization:

  • Timely deployment of network upgrades and optimizations

Monitoring and Incident Response:

  • Low MTTR and proactive issue resolution

Vendor and Telco Management:

  • Smooth collaboration with telcos, satellite and CDN providers

Risk and Compliance:

  • Secure, redundant infrastructure with proper failovers

Agile Process:

  • Consistent participation in Agile ceremonies and improvement cycles

Network Implementation:

  • Deploy and maintain global IP and hybrid video networks aligned with design specifications
  • Network deployments and changes executed on schedule with zero unplanned downtime
  • Configuration standards and documentation maintained 100% up to date
  • Change success rate > 98% with rollback plans validated

Distribution Support:

  • Ensure efficient delivery of live and on-demand content via CDN, IP and satellite
  • 99.5% service uptime across all live feeds
  • Latency maintained within < 5 seconds end-to-end for OTT delivery (or within platform SLA)
  • 100% of scheduled live events delivered to broadcast QoS standards

Telco and Satellite Coordination:

  • Support uplink chains, bonded cellular and leased circuits for contribution and distribution
  • Link uptime > 99.9%
  • All faults escalated within 15 minutes and resolved or mitigated within agreed SLA
  • Monthly SLA reports submitted on time with < 2% data discrepancy

Monitoring and QoS:

  • Operate observability platforms; ensure latency and packet-loss metrics within SLA
  • MTTR < 15 minutes for critical incidents
  • 100% of live channels actively monitored with real-time alerting
  • QoS metrics (latency, packet loss, jitter) within defined SLA thresholds for > 98% of streams

R&D Support:

  • Assist in testing and documenting new transmission methods (e.g. 5G, LEO / MEO)
  • Minimum 1 technology pilot or proof-of-concept completed annually
  • Test results documented and presented to technical management
  • Identified pilots deliver measurable performance or cost improvement

Security and Compliance:

  • Apply encryption, VPN and secure transit policies; maintain audit readiness
  • Zero critical vulnerabilities in annual audit reports
  • All network configurations and credentials managed according to security policy
  • Incident response actions documented and verified during quarterly review

Tooling and Automation:

  • Drive creation, documentation, and adoption of operational processes and procedures for team members
  • Lead Agile ceremonies and ensure active participation from subordinates and contractors
  • Facilitate continuous improvement through regular retrospectives and process refinement
  • Mentor team members in operational best practices and agile methodologies
  • Contribute to the identification and testing of new distribution technologies
  • Participate in R&D initiatives with cloud, CDN, and satellite partners
  • Recommend optimizations to improve cost efficiency, latency and resilience
  • Consistent collaboration with adjacent technical teams
  • Completion of training and certification plans
  • Documented knowledge-sharing and technical presentations per quarter
  • 100% participation rate in Agile ceremonies from direct reports
  • Quarterly process improvement initiatives documented and implemented
  • Team adoption rate of new operational processes > 90% within 1 sprint
  • 100% of team members actively participating in Agile ceremonies
