About the Role
Hire Resolve, a leading logistics company in Gauteng, is seeking an experienced National SHEQ Manager to join their team. The successful incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring the company’s compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act legislation and implementing effective SHEQ management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance to all applicable legislation concerning Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Conduct, maintain, and file critical SHEQ inspections correctly.
- Investigate, manage, and implement preventive measures for incidents and accidents.
- Drive SHEQ awareness on sites through toolbox talks, safety awareness campaigns, and visual safety management.
- Establish and maintain SHEQ risk assessments and legal appointments, ensuring they are up to date and filed correctly.
- Ensure compliance with Imperial CLDC SHEQ requirements, BATSA requirements, and other relevant standards.
- Maintain accurate and easily retrievable SHEQ filing during audits.
- Compile monthly safety and sustainability reports for sites.
- Ensure Imperial meets HSE and Transport safety requirements.
- Improve HSE culture by engaging with staff on HSE matters.
Requirements
- Degree in Safety Management or equivalent.
- SAMTRAC/NADSAM or equivalent qualification (advantageous).
- License Code 8.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in SHEQ, with a working knowledge of the logistics industry.
- Experience in OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, RTMS, and ISO 9001 protocols (advantageous).
- Experience in a dynamic, high-volume operating environment.
- Employee Relations and Conflict Management skills.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Procedures, Requirements, and Legislation.
