An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join the Finance Control team within a dynamic and fast-paced franchise business operating across multiple African markets.
 
The successful candidate will manage and streamline the Accounts Receivable process, ensure accurate billing, drive collections, and maintain compliance with global accounting policies. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality financial reporting and control standards across the franchise system.
 
As an Accounts Receivable Coordinator you will responsible for the following:

• Manage, track, and account for receivables and collections across 16+ countries
• Ensure compliance with the company’s Allowance for Doubtful Accounts (AFDA) policy
• Reconcile key accounts including:
• Royalties, licensing, initial/renewal/transfer fees
• Advertising and Supply Chain contributions
• Franchise trade recoveries and third-party contracts
• Resolve account queries and interact professionally with franchisees and internal departments
• Support periodic and quarterly financial reporting
• Optimise billing processes through automation, control enhancements, and audit compliance

 
Job Experience and Skills Required:
2 – 4 years’ experience in a finance environment, specifically in Accounts Receivable and reconciliations
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; JD Edwards experience advantageous
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset
Ability to manage high volumes of data and meet tight deadlines

My client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable (AR) Coordinator to join their dynamic finance team.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely collection of payments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting continuous improvements in AR operations.

This role is based in Bryanston, Johannesburg North.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts receivable cycle including invoice processing, payment tracking, and reconciliations.
• Monitor customer accounts for delayed payments and proactively follow up to ensure timely collections.
• Process and allocate incoming payments accurately across customer accounts.
• Resolve discrepancies and disputes with internal teams and external customers in a professional and timely manner.
• Prepare regular AR aging reports and highlight risks or irregularities to management.
• Support month-end closing activities by reconciling AR accounts and assisting with audit requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, sales, and operations teams to streamline processes and enhance customer experience.
• Maintain up-to-date records and documentation in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a related finance role.
• Strong understanding of AR principles and general accounting practices.
• High attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A team player with a problem-solving mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
