About the Role
Our client in the Media and Print industry is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the institute, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Allocate Sales Targets and ensure they are achieved
- Ensure staff deliver excellent customer service
- Provide sales service in store on copy center orders, passport ID, etc.
- Adhere to Merchandising Standards
- Manage staff effectively, inspiring, motivating, and developing the team to drive sales and work performance
- Maintain work procedures and hold staff accountable for meeting standards
- Be responsible for the day-to-day running of operations and sales
- Provide daily reporting on sales to staff and management
- Ensure all employees have ongoing training and development, including excellent product knowledge
- Complete daily reports as requested by Management
- Ensure all departments have enough stock
- Conduct daily cash ups
- Open and lock the shop
Requirements
- Matric Senior Certificate
- Good Computer Skills (Excel, Email)
- Effective communication at all levels in both English and Afrikaans
- Proven record of exceeding sales targets with at least 5 years previous management experience
- Advantageous: Copy Center duties including printing, scanning, binding, laminating, gift range, and photographic experience
- Machine operating knowledge – copiers and large format printers
- Ability to establish good working relationships and work well in a team
- Ability to work Retail Hours (195 hours worked per month according to a shift roster)
- Valid Driver’s License and own transport
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances
- Basic HR knowledge
