Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct actuarial analyses with minimal supervision, and support more complex work under the guidance of experienced actuaries.
- Assist in the pricing of new and renewal business, supporting the development of rating structures and profitability reviews.
- Provide technical support to underwriters on pricing decisions and contribute to strategic initiatives.
- Perform reserve and expense analysis to ensure pricing adequacy and alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Underwriting, Claims, and Finance to support business objectives.
- Progress steadily towards actuarial qualification while demonstrating increasing technical proficiency and industry knowledge.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of actuarial experience, preferably across multiple functions.
- Currently pursuing actuarial qualification through a recognised local or international body.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage tasks independently.
- Professional attitude, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Python, R, SAS, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of actuarial principles, insurance practices, and financial reporting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyse data and present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated teamwork, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
