About the Role

The Payroll Administrator role is a critical function at our Robertsville branch, requiring strong administrative and organizational skills to ensure accurate calculations of rate of pay changes, submission of relevant deductions, and timely processing of pay-related queries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure route files are neat and tidy at all times
  • Ensure route files are up to date
  • All bookings are to be up to date on a daily basis
  • Resolve posting sheet queries within 48 hours; escalate matters to direct manager if not resolved within this timeframe
  • Do not file posting sheets with queries reflecting on them, but instead attach them to the front cover until resolved
  • Follow up and obtain company numbers for all 102s booked
  • Obtain a company number and book back individual bookings with an ID number within 24 hours; escalate matters to manager if not done so
  • Draw a red line through open line items on posting sheets, add reason from employee completing the posting sheet, and have it signed off by the manager concerned
  • Attend to all pay queries, provide feedback on the day of receipt, and supply memo and payroll order number as necessary
  • Perform daily courtesy calls to managers and site who supply posting sheets
  • Submit time books for all employees booking under your sphere of duty
  • Check route files regularly
  • Ensure accurate calculations of rate of pay changes
  • Process all relevant deductions, such as 3rd party Deductions, garnishee orders, maintenance orders
  • Capture posting sheets daily
  • Deal with all pay-related queries promptly and provide feedback immediately

Requirements

  • At least Matric certificate
  • SAP experience (an added advantage)
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is essential
  • Strong administration and organizational skills
  • Numerical accuracy and high methodical working methods are required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to liaise professionally with personnel at all levels
  • Ability to work without supervision, under pressure, and meet strict deadlines
