Sales Person – CTI in Industrial Automation, PLC Systems, Automation Components PLCs s Automation Accessories (Catalogue Sales) Permanent Position | in Johannesburg nearly near Roodepoort Preferably must be able to start immediately. Must be willing to relocate near the Company – essential Department: Automation Solutions Will be working at our client’s premises and going to see external customers and new customers Industry: Industrial Automation, PLC Systems, Automation Components Must have Matric / Grade 12. Must have Valid driver’s license and own transport. Should have a N2 – N6 Electrical or Mechatronics or Instrumentation (advantage). Experience selling electrical spares, automation components, or industrial equipment. Familiarity with control panels, PLC modules, I/O cards, or automation software. Should have 1–3 years sales experience (preferably technical, electrical, or industrial B2B). The Sales Person will be responsible for driving sales of CTI PLCs, automation modules, I/O cards, racks, power supplies, networking accessories, and related catalogue-listed automation components. The role focuses on industrial sales, building strong customer relationships, promoting catalogue products, and growing revenue within the company’s automation product line. This role is ideal for someone with technical aptitude, basic knowledge of PLCs, and strong sales drive who can translate customer needs into the correct products from a standardized catalogue. Promote and sell CTI PLC products, modules, and automation accessories from the company catalogue. CTI software solutions include products that allow you to: – Connect MMI / HMI and programming devices to the 2500 Series® or Simatic ® 505 system over Ethernet Program CTI Coprocessor modules – Program using APT over a network – Take advantage of increased memory capacity of CTI processors when using APT Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of customers in industries such as manufacturing, mining, utilities, FMCG, packaging, and system integrators. Proactively identify new sales leads through cold calling, online research, plant visits, and industry networking. Manage incoming enquiries and provide accurate product recommendations from the CTI catalogue. Technical Understanding s Product Support Develop a working understanding of CTI PLC architecture, products, and compatibility (including migration solutions). Assist clients in selecting the correct PLC modules, I/O types, communication interfaces, and accessories. Offer customers product datasheets, brochures, pricing lists, and technical materials as needed Build and maintain long-term relationships with control engineers, instrumentation technicians, integrators, and maintenance managers. Conduct routine follow-ups with existing customers to encourage repeat orders and catalogue-based sales. Maintain CRM (customer relationship management) records, contacts, opportunities, and activities. Prepare quotations, sales proposals, and pricing according to company guidelines. Process orders with accuracy and completeness. Track deliveries, coordinate with stores/logistics, and keep customers updated on order status. Provide monthly sales reports and pipeline updates to management. Monitor competitor PLC products, pricing, and catalogue offerings. Identify opportunities for product bundling, upgrades, and cross-selling. Provide customer feedback to internal teams to improve competitiveness. Basic understanding of PLCs, control systems, instrumentation, or electrical automation (training provided). Ability to understand catalogues, spec sheets, and module configuration tables. Advantageous: exposure to Siemens S7, Rockwell, Schneider, or CTI products. Ability to understand customer needs and propose appropriate catalogue products. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple enquiries. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Achievement of monthly C quarterly sales targets. Monthly Salary: R 25 000 to R35 000 Commission on top – achievement of monthly C quarterly sales targets ( Salary package is dependent on skills, Qualifications and years of relevant experience only) Discretionary Annual Performance Bonus Please note there is a Pension Scheme which will be taken off your Net Salary, which is not negotiable.
