About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Manager: Legal Advisor (Africa) to join our team at Profile Personnel. As a key member of our African Region, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support to ensure the company’s compliance with local laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the African Region in all legal matters to find effective solutions for the business.
- Determine the most suitable legal entity structures in various African Region markets.
- Comment, draft, and finalize commercial agreements related to imports, distributorships, dealer agreements, assembly agreements, sponsorships, trade exchanges, training, funding/grants, loans, sales, partnerships, and other business transactions.
- Provide legal and business advice to ensure compliance with Company and Group Organisational Directives.
- Remain abreast of legal developments in the Motor Industry and provide timely reporting to the Board of Management.
- Participate in specialist committees to promote synergies within the organization.
- Represent Company at automotive and relevant legal forums on matters of common interest.
- Oversee and manage litigation/alternative dispute resolution proceedings initiated by or against Company.
- Protect intellectual property of the Group.
- Support the Integrity, Risk and Compliance Department as needed.
- Identify training requirements relevant to the field of law and present them within Company.
- Collaborate with Group colleagues and related subsidiaries as required.
Requirements
- Post-graduate qualifications in commercial law (recommended).
- Knowledge of Intellectual Property legislation (e.g. Trademarks, Copyright, Design) (advantageous).
- Admission as an Attorney/Advocate.
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years in commercial law (post admission) or a minimum of 8 years relevant working experience, preferably in the Automotive or related industries.
