About the Role
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Product Development Designer to join our Merchandise and Product Development Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in conceptualising, designing, and developing innovative and commercially viable products that align with our brand identity and market trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify emerging market and design trends relevant to our product categories.
- Conceptualise and design new products or improve existing ones, ensuring alignment with the company’s brand and merchandise strategy.
- Develop detailed product design specifications, technical drawings, and material guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with the merchandising, buying, and sourcing teams to ensure product feasibility, cost efficiency, and timely development.
- Review and evaluate product samples and prototypes, making recommendations for improvements.
- Liaise with local and international suppliers or manufacturers to ensure product quality and compliance with design requirements.
- Support the merchandise team in range planning and seasonal product launches.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Product Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 35 years experience in product design or product development within a retail or manufacturing environment.
- Strong creative, visual, and conceptual design skills.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CAD programs.
- Good understanding of materials, production processes, and quality standards.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
