About the Role
Developmenthub is a high-performance technology development house delivering cutting-edge software solutions across a range of industries. We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Sales Administrator / Officer to join our team in a junior capacity. This is a foundational sales role that combines organised administrative support with active commercial contribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Prospecting:
- Research and identify prospective clients across target sectors, including government, fintech, and enterprise.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified leads through online research, LinkedIn, industry directories, and referral networks.
- Conduct initial outreach to warm and cold prospects via email and phone, with support from senior stakeholders.
- Track lead status and activity diligently, ensuring no opportunity falls through the cracks.
- Proposal & Tender Writing:
- Support the preparation of tailored proposals, capability statements, and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and tenders.
- Coordinate input from technical team members to ensure proposals are accurate, compelling, and submitted on time.
- Maintain a library of reusable proposal content, case studies, and credentials for efficient turnaround.
- Assist in proofreading, formatting, and quality-checking all outgoing sales documents.
- CRM Management & Reporting:
- Own the day-to-day management and accuracy of the company’s CRM system (logging interactions, updating records, and tracking pipeline stages).
- Produce regular pipeline and activity reports for the MD, flagging key opportunities and risks.
- Identify gaps or inconsistencies in CRM data and drive continuous improvement in how we capture and use sales information.
- Support the development of simple dashboards or summaries to give leadership clear visibility of business development performance.
Requirements
- Essential:
- 13 years of experience in a sales, business development, or administrative support role (internships and learnerships count).
- Exceptional written communication skills – you can write clearly, professionally, and persuasively.
- Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with data – entering, tracking, and reporting with accuracy.
- A self-starter who takes initiative and follows through without needing to be chased.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or Google Workspace.
- Advantageous:
- Exposure to or familiarity with a CRM platform (HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, or similar).
- Experience with or interest in the technology, software development, or professional services sector.
- Some exposure to tender or proposal writing processes.
- A degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
