About the Role
As a Sales Manager at Virgin Active South Africa Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth and achieving customer acquisition targets. Your primary objective is to make exercise irresistible to our members by delivering exceptional sales results and creating a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve growth and consistently meet sales targets by successfully leading the sales team
- Make recommendations to sales plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans for the sales team
- Coach the team for successful delivery of sales objectives
- Implement customer-service standards; resolve queries; complete audits; identify trends and implement change as needed
- Maintain and develop a high-performance sales team with a focus on accomplishing sales objectives through leading, developing, coaching, and mentoring
- Perform administrative and management functions in line with daily, monthly, and quarterly deadlines
- Sell memberships to achieve the set monthly budget and sales goals
- Proactively identify opportunities and market Virgin Active memberships to the community surrounding the clubs and/or corporate organisations
- Actively follow up on leads provided in club and surrounds
- Maintain sprint backlogs with Scrum teams
- Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects
Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)
- At least 2 years experience within a sales management role, managing a sales team
- At least 4 years previous experience within the sales environment (similar industry preferable)/sales consultant role
- Proven track record in a solution sale environment
- Highly numerate, financially astute, and able to understand budgeting processes
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to negotiate and close deals under pressure
- Successfully completed Proactive Sales Manager training (Internal Candidates)
- Adaptability (must be able to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment)
- Curiosity (must be willing to succeed, seek opportunities to learn and grow)
- Winning mentality (must be willing to go over and above to achieve success)
