About the Role

As a Sales Manager at Virgin Active South Africa Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth and achieving customer acquisition targets. Your primary objective is to make exercise irresistible to our members by delivering exceptional sales results and creating a high-performing sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve growth and consistently meet sales targets by successfully leading the sales team
  • Make recommendations to sales plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans for the sales team
  • Coach the team for successful delivery of sales objectives
  • Implement customer-service standards; resolve queries; complete audits; identify trends and implement change as needed
  • Maintain and develop a high-performance sales team with a focus on accomplishing sales objectives through leading, developing, coaching, and mentoring
  • Perform administrative and management functions in line with daily, monthly, and quarterly deadlines
  • Sell memberships to achieve the set monthly budget and sales goals
  • Proactively identify opportunities and market Virgin Active memberships to the community surrounding the clubs and/or corporate organisations
  • Actively follow up on leads provided in club and surrounds
  • Maintain sprint backlogs with Scrum teams
  • Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects

Requirements

  • Matric Certificate
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)
  • At least 2 years experience within a sales management role, managing a sales team
  • At least 4 years previous experience within the sales environment (similar industry preferable)/sales consultant role
  • Proven track record in a solution sale environment
  • Highly numerate, financially astute, and able to understand budgeting processes
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to negotiate and close deals under pressure
  • Successfully completed Proactive Sales Manager training (Internal Candidates)
  • Adaptability (must be able to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment)
  • Curiosity (must be willing to succeed, seek opportunities to learn and grow)
  • Winning mentality (must be willing to go over and above to achieve success)
