Johannesburg: SD-WAN Specialist – Palo Alto Prisma

Qualifications/Certifications and Experience Required: Matric plus Diploma or Degree in IT Palo Alto Networks Certified SD-WAN Engineer (Prisma SD-WAN) . PCNSE (Palo Alto Certified Network Security Engineer), CCNP Enterprise . 5 years in network engineering roles, with at least 2 years in SD-WAN deployments. Proven experience in Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN implementations for enterprise or service provider environments. Strong background in network audits, migration planning, and hybrid WAN design. Ke Responsibilities Solution Design & Architecture Develop High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) for Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN deployments. Integrate SD-WAN with existing MPLS, DIA, LTE, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS). Ensure compliance with the companys security frameworks and Zero Trust principles. Deployment & Configuration Implement Prisma SD-WAN ION devices and configure policies for application-aware routing, QoS, and security. Enable advanced features such as SASE integration, cloud-delivered security, and AI/ML-driven path selection. Perform zero-touch provisioning and centralized orchestration via Palo Alto CloudGenix/Prisma SD-WAN controllers. Migration & Optimization Plan and execute migrations from MPLS to SD-WAN with minimal downtime. Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting for latency-sensitive applications (voice, video, SaaS). Provide post-migration support and optimization reports. Governance & Documentation Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, IP schemas, and configuration baselines. Ensure adherence to MTNs SD-WAN governance and compliance standards. Required Skills and Experience Technical Expertise Deep knowledge of Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN architecture, ION appliances, and Cloud Management. Strong understanding of WAN technologies: MPLS, BGP, OSPF, QoS, IPSec VPN. Familiarity with SASE, Zero Trust, and cloud connectivity models.
